Four elements
The artist Bernd Lauer presents his expressive acrylic painting "Four Elements" on canvas. In vibrant red, blue, yellow, and green, the work symbolically unites the basic natural elements of fire, water, air, and earth. This composition is one of his most well-known works and has been exhibited numerous times. The abstract surface structure and impasto painting technique reflect the connection between power and harmony.

Fusion with tree bark
The left canvas shows Bernd Lauer's original painting "Four Elements," in which the fundamental forces of fire (red), water (blue), earth (green), and air (beige) are depicted as vibrant colored fields. The right canvas shows the digitally reworked version, in which Lauer blended natural tree bark structures with the original color composition. This transformation combines natural texture with artistic expression, lending the work additional depth and vibrancy. Both versions have been displayed side by side in exhibitions to visualize the creative transformation.

Digital fusion with birch bark
In this highly acclaimed work, Bernd Lauer combines his classic painting "Four Elements" with the photographically captured texture of real birch bark. The color fields—red (fire), yellow (air), blue (water), and green (earth)—merge digitally with the vibrant surface of the natural material. This fusion creates a profound, organic composition that visualizes both the primal forces and the fragility of nature. The work is part of the BERNADO-ART series and has been exhibited several times.
